Oh the familiar call of an old friend, that open road
It’s time to chuck this heavy load
An adventure I shall traverse alone
What next will I be shown?
Those hopeful eyes in my rear view mirror
Shall be forgiven for every fear
These follies of a time now past
I shall leave behind at very last
The wind is warm and the moon is bright
I can’t see or feel them, but that’s alright
I tell you, there’s not a barrier in sight
Off I go into this beautiful night
Tears are shed, some are wed
People find peace
In the life they’ve led
Or risk a draining war
Not knowing
Who they’re fighting for
Hearts break, soar and ache
You see, there’s quite a lot
A heart can take
Care for yourself
In every way you can
Find the promise land
In your own lovely soul
Can’t you feel the pull?
I cannot say goodbye
For I never know
Where this road will have me go
